**F-1 transfers are students who are attending another institution inside the U.S and eligible to transfer their I-20 (includes conditionally-admitted students enrolled at partner language schools); Online-only applicants are those who intend to take online classes from abroad and do not require an F-1 visa.
Admission Requirements
All documents should be uploaded directly to the application. No physical documents accepted.

- Copy of the biographical (photo) page in your passport
- Proof of English proficiency (see below)
- High School/Secondary School Transcripts*
- College or University Transcripts (if applicable only) *
- Copy of I-20 from current institution, current visa, and I-94 card (for F-1 students transferring in from another U.S. institution only)
- Confidential Financial Statement (for F-1 applicants only; this item can be submitted post admission, please see below)
- $75 application fee

Please note: Students must be 16 years of age or older before the first day of classes to be eligible for admission to the colleges. Applicants under age 18 must submit proof of high school/secondary school completion.
Attention Chinese students studying in the Chinese national curriculum: If you do not plan to complete the third year of high school or receive your high school diploma and if you are under 18, please upload the following documents our online application (instructions in our application):
- Certification of Completion of Senior High Schools Courses for Graduation Form
- Huikao or Xueye Shuiping Ceshi examination results with passing scores in a minimum of five subjects

Conditional Admission
If you’d like to apply for conditional admission through a partner English language school, please review the full list of ur partners and level requirements. You can also visit the Foothill College or De Anza College International website for more details about conditional admission.
Confidential Financial Statement
You can complete this step either during the application process or after you have already been admitted. In your application portal, upload a letter from the bank verifying that you or your sponsor are in “good standing” and have at least $30,448.00 U.S. dollars available for the first year of your education expenses. The letter/documentation must not be more than six months old. All I-20 documents will be sent electronically.
Deferral Policy
Applicants or admitted students to Foothill or De Anza College may request to defer their application up to one calendar year from their original application term (up to three deferral requests within one year). After this period, students still wishing to defer will be required to submit a new application and will be subject to the $75 application fee again.
Note that this policy does not apply for conditionally admitted students. Students holding conditional admission may be deferred beyond one calendar year if necessary to complete their English language studies and receive full admission.
Policy on Switching Campuses
Applicants can select only one campus on the application and should review this selection carefully before submitting the application. Applicants to either Foothill or De Anza College who wish to change their application or admission to the other campus should contact the original campus to withdraw their application. They must then submit a new application to the desired campus and may be subject to the $75 application fee again.
Concurrent Enrollment Policy
Please note: Students seeking concurrent enrollment in order take classes with Foothill or De Anza College as a guest student while maintaining F-1 status at another institution, may NOT use the application on this website. Concurrent enrollment applicants must submit an application through CCCApply
Transfer Out Policy
If you are admitted and enter the U.S. on a Foothill or De Anza College I-20, you are required to enroll in and complete at least 1 term of study (full time - 12 units minimum) before requesting a transfer of your I-20 to a new institution.
